The Future of Work and Women's Employment Project

We initiated the 'Future of Work and Women's Employment Project' in collaboration with KPMG from our members at the beginning of 2022. The project aims to assess the digital competence of companies' existing female talent pools and create a guide for Human Resources Departments based on these findings. In the initial phase of the project, we aimed to capture a snapshot of our members' female employment and digitalization efforts, conducting some baseline data analysis. According to the Sustainable Development Report 2021 data, Turkey faces significant challenges in combating gender inequality. In this context, BSCD Türkiye is working to contribute to gender equality efforts with the project we have developed.

  • Here are the key findings of the research: The white-collar female employee ratio of our participating members increased from 36.4% in 2019 to 37.2% in 2021.
  • When we look at the data of 410 companies listed on the Borsa Istanbul, we observe that the percentage of women on their Boards of Directors is 16.7%.
  • Among the companies included in the research, we found that the percentage of female executives is 29%, while the percentage of women on Boards of Directors is 23%. 79% of participant companies have digital transformation on their agendas, and 41% of these companies have conducted competency transformation efforts for female employees.

The 'Future of Work and Women's Employment Project' was evaluated as the best and most inclusive project of the year according to the 2022 Member Satisfaction Survey results.
