Water Risks R&D Project
About the Project
Considering the critical importance of sustainable water resource management for agricultural production, the Water Risks R&D Project was launched in May 2022 in collaboration with the Ankara University Water Management Institute.

Project Sponsors
Phase I: Under the main sponsorship of Ülker;
- Carried out with the support sponsorship of Brisa, IC İçtaş İnşaat, PepsiCo, Sütaş, Toros Tarım, and TürkTraktör.
Phase II: Under the main sponsorship of Ülker;
- Continued with the support sponsorship of Brisa, IC İçtaş İnşaat, PepsiCo, Sütaş, Toros Tarım, Wilo, Şekerbank, and TürkTraktör.
Project Scope and Applications
The project was implemented in two phases in Delice district and Çerikli town of Kırıkkale, located within the Kızılırmak Basin.
Phase I Results:
- Achieved 30% water savings through drip irrigation.
- Increased crop yield by 20%.
Phase II Results:
- Enabled more precise irrigation planning through sensor technology.
- Achieved 28% higher yield compared to farmers’ traditional practices.
- Provided 53% water savings with sprinkler irrigation and 65% with drip irrigation.
- Achieved yields 50% higher than the Delice district average and 35% higher than the Türkiye average.
