Buildings Energy Efficiency (BEV) Declaration Project
Buildings form our primary living and working spaces across the globe. For this reason, a significant portion of our energy consumption (40%) takes place indoors. To draw attention to this fact and to encourage the business world to unite under a common framework for focused action, our BEV Declaration was opened for signature in 2013. As an Association, we monitored and evaluated the annual energy data of the signatory companies and provided tailored feedback to each. Through these measurement, evaluation, and monitoring processes, the signatories identified significant opportunities for improvement, thereby increasing their efficiency and savings.
